HRUNZ Charitable Trust
For HRUNZ, being a Charitable Trust means we are here for impact, not profit, and everything we do is guided by care, connection, and community. It means any funding, donations, or grants we receive go straight back into creating safe, inclusive equine-assisted learning opportunities—especially for young people, neurodiverse participants, and those who benefit most from learning alongside horses. Our charitable status strengthens trust, transparency, and long-term sustainability, and it allows us to grow in a way that stays true to our values. Looking ahead, it means we can support and care for our horses, develop meaningful programmes, train future facilitators, and ensure HRUNZ continues to be a place where both people and horses are respected, supported, and able to thrive well into the future.

Playdates
Neurodiverse Play Dates at HRUNZ
Our Neurodiverse Play Dates offer a calm, inclusive, horse-centred space where neurodivergent children and young people can be themselves. Through gentle interactions with horses, open-ended play, and time outdoors, participants are supported to build confidence, connection, and self-regulation at their own pace.
There’s no pressure to ride or perform — just space to connect, explore, and grow alongside our horses.
School Programmes
HRUNZ offers inclusive, strengths-based school programmes that use horses as partners in learning. Our equine-assisted learning sessions support students to build confidence, emotional regulation, communication, resilience, and positive relationships in a calm, outdoor environment.
Programmes are tailored to meet the needs of each school and can support neurodiverse learners, students needing extra emotional or behavioural support, ORS-funded students, alternative education, and wellbeing-focused initiatives. Sessions are hands-on, experiential, and non-riding, with a strong emphasis on safety, reflection, and personal growth.

Rainbow Youth

At HRUNZ, our Rainbow Youth sessions offer a safe, affirming, and welcoming space for rainbow and gender-diverse young people to connect, be themselves, and simply be — alongside our calm, intuitive horses. Through gentle, horse-led activities, time in nature, and supported reflection, rangatahi are encouraged to build confidence, resilience, and a sense of belonging. There’s no pressure to perform or fit a mould — just space to explore identity, connection, and wellbeing in a supportive paddock environment where everyone is respected and celebrated.
Supporting Families/Whanau
At HRUNZ, we support families by creating calm, welcoming spaces where children, parents, and caregivers can slow down, connect, and grow alongside horses. Our programmes recognise that every family is different, and we work gently and respectfully to build confidence, understanding, and stronger relationships.

Want to be apart of our Village ?
Volunteering with the HRUNZ Charitable Trust means being part of a caring village that supports young people, families, and our horses. Our volunteers help create safe, inclusive, and confidence-building experiences where connection, learning, and growth can happen—both on the ground and alongside the horses.

Become a friend of HRUNZ Trust
Becoming a Financial Friend of HRUNZ is a simple yet powerful way to support the mahi we do with horses, young people, whānau, and our wider community.
Financial Friends choose to make a regular or one-off donation that helps us care for our horses, run inclusive equine-assisted learning programmes, and ensure no one misses out due to financial barriers. Every contribution—no matter the size—helps keep our paddock gates open and our programmes accessible.
As a Financial Friend, you become part of the HRUNZ village, walking alongside us as we grow safe, supportive spaces where people can connect, learn, and thrive with horses.

Sponsor a Horse
Sponsoring a horse isn’t just a donation — it’s a relationship.
At HRUNZ, our horses are teachers, healers, confidence-builders and quiet companions for people who need a safe place to learn, grow and just be. When you sponsor a horse, you’re directly supporting the wellbeing of a horse who gives so much of themselves to others, every single day.
Your sponsorship helps cover:
-
Feed, supplements and seasonal care
-
Farrier and dental work
-
Veterinary care and bodywork
-
Ongoing training, enrichment and downtime
That means our horses stay healthy, happy, and able to do the meaningful work they love — supporting children, rangatahi, families, neurodiverse participants, schools, and community programmes.
You’re not just backing a programme.
You’re backing a heartbeat.
